One of the first videos we recorded in Merida, Venezuela around December of 2005. Although we lacked multiple microphones and lighting at the time, the brilliant playing of these students from the Universidad de los Andes more than makes up for any technical shortcomings! The style presented here is joropo, a very fast and frenetic music style found in Venezuela and Colombia.
